Florida Swimming will present two $1,000.00 awards to one male and one female Florida Swimming/USA Swimming athlete member, in 2011. If you know of a student/athlete member you believe deserves and meets the criteria please have them fill out the enclosed form and return it by Monday, July 11, 2011. The FL awards committee will review the applications and announce the recipient Saturday, July 23, during the “2011 Florida Swimming Long Course Senior Championship”, held at Indian River State College, Fort Pierce, Florida. GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Local teen Jaide Childs is swimming her way to Mexico – the 2011 Parapan American Games in Guadalajara to be exact. The 2011 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships have been relocated from Fort Myers, Fla., to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The 10k race will be held June 10 and the 5k race will remain on June 12.
