 I’m extremely heart-broken to deliver some very sad news to you tonight.  A loved, appreciated and valuable member of the swim officiating community in our state is no longer with us.  Florida Gold Coast Official Mike Fish passed away today after succumbing to injuries sustained when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle in South Florida. As per the Steering Committee’s April 2011 decision, the 2011 AT&T Short Course National Championships to be held December 1-3 in Atlanta, GA will now be a Long Course competition to allow participants an opportunity to achieve Olympic Trials qualifying standards. Dear Florida Swimming Clubs and Coaches,   There is a revision to the list of candidates  for the 2011 Southern Zone Age Group Championship Meet in Cary, NC July 26th - 31st.  Only the 13-14 girls list has been revised.   The revision is due to the change is eligibility rules established by the Southern Zone. The upper eligibility limit of achieving a 2009 U.S. Open time standard is only for the 15-18 age group.  Therefore, any 11-12 and 13-14 swimmers are not affected by the rule.   I apologize...
