Open water champion Fran Crippen died tragically while competing in a FINA World Cup event in Fujairah, UAE on Saturday. USA Swimming has released the following statement. The inaugural Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championship will be hosted February 17-20, 2011, at the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando, Fla. Five institutions will vie for the first ever SSC swimming titles, as Florida Southern College, Nova Southeastern University, Rollins College, Saint Leo University, and the University of Tampa will participate in the event. If so, you might be eligible for USA Swimming's Scholastic All-America Team!       Each year, USA Swimming recognizes its members who excel both in the classroom and in the pool. The Scholastic All-America Team is made up of high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and who have achieved the required time standard in a single event.
