Each year USA Swimming selects athletes to become members of the USA Swimming – Scholastic All-American (SAA)Team. The program is open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors that have a 3.5 GPA and have attained the specified time standard in a single event. The program also has specific qualification standards for Disability Athletes and Open Water swimmers. This year’s application process will be entirely on-line through the USA Swimming website. Florida Swimming will present two $1,000.00 awards to one male and one female Florida Swimming / USA Swimming athlete member, in 2012. If you know of a student/athlete member you believe deserves and meets the criteria please have them fill out the enclosed form and return it by Monday, July 16, 2012. The FL awards committee will review the applications and announce the recipient Saturday, July 28, during the “2012 Florida Swimming Long Course Senior Championship”, held at Selby Aquatic Center, Sarasota, Florida. The FL Technical Planning Committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 8:30 PM. The FL office will be on part time hours 8:30 AM  to 1:00 PM  June 1 , and 13-15.   Regular FL office hours are 8:30 to 4:00.
