On Thursday, February 13, Arena Grand Prix event organizers will bring together a group of the USA’s topOlympic swimmers at USA Swimming’s Arena Grand Prix in Orlando at the YMCA Aquatic Center (8422 International Dr, Orlando, FL).  This event is designed to generate water safety awareness and to promote learn-to-swim programs available at either low or no cost to the participant. Coaches, As many of you are aware, the Florida Swimming Open Water All Star  meet will be on Sunday, April 13th in Ft. Myers.  Selection criteria  for this event is as follows: Senior Champs: Top 5 times from 15-18 year olds boys/girls 1650 FLAGS: Top 5 boys/girls 11-12 1000 and 13-14 1650 *should 13-18 year old swimmers placed in the top 8 in the 1650 decline an invitation to the team, it is the All Star Coach's  discretion to move to the top 8 1000 yard swimmers. The Florida Swimming office will be closed or on part time hours on the folowing dates in February.   we will be closed:  February 12, 13, 14 & 17.  We will be on part-time hours 8:30 to 1:00: February 7, 27 & 28.

From The 2014 SCY FLAG Meet Announcement: In order to accommodate swimmers who transfer into the Florida LSC within the 120 day window, transfer swimmers may apply for an exemption of the 120 day rule provided they petition the Eligibility Committee (defined in this situation as the Age Group Committee plus the Head Meet Referee for FLAGS) and provide proof of permanent residence within LSC boundaries by the athlete and their parent/guardian.
