2025 BUD & IRENE HACKETT AWARD

OFFICE ADMIN
Florida Swimming will present two $1,000.00 awards to one male and one female Florida Swimming/USA Swimming athlete member.
 
DEADLINE: Friday, June 20th, 2025
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Applicant must be a 2025 graduating high school senior.
• Applicant must be a CURRENT 2025 Florida Swimming member in good standing and have been a member for at least 2 years – Adult athletes must be current with Athlete Protection Training
• Applicant must graduate with a minimum of a 3.25 GPA (un-weighted).
• Applicant must show the ability to be a strong leader with his or her peers.
• Applicant should be a well-respected member of their community (i.e. volunteer, civic organizations, church, school, etc.)
 
REQUIREMENTS:
• Completed Application
• Essay - Between 500-1000 words; explaining what it means to you to be a leader to your peers in today’s society. Your essay needs to include why it is important to be a leader, how you became an effective leader, and how being a leader will serve your goals in the future. Add any additional information you feel is relevant.
 
DO NOT INCLUDE ANY SWIMMING RELATED AWARDS OR TIME STANDARDS YOU HAVE ACHIEVED IN THIS PAPER OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
