4-TEAM MEET FORMAT

In 2026 Florida Swimming will select qualified athletes based on the COMBINED results of the 2026 Florida Swimming Spring Age Group Championships North and South.  A fun and exciting 4-team meet format has been developed that mixes the top athletes from both Florida Swimming and Florida Gold Coast via a draft format.  The meet will be a winner take all, and one team will have bragging rights... until next year!

DATES:             March 27-28, 2026

LOCATION:       Indian River State College, Ft. Pierce

SELECTION PROCEDURES:

  • FL Swimming athletes will be selected based on the COMBINED results of the 2026 Florida Swimming Spring Age Groups Championships North and South.
  • Swimmers who finish in the Top 6 of the COMBINED results in any individual event (10&u- Timed Finals, 11-12- Finals, 13-14- Finals) are eligible for consideration.
  • Swimmers who age up between FLAGs and the meet are still eligible to compete, but must swim in their new age group.  If an athlete turns 15 on or before March 27th they are NOT eligible for selection.
  • Swimmers and parents must complete the necessary application form (online) and submit payment by the Tuesday following FLAGs (March 10th) at 5:00p.   No late entries will be accepted.

What will be different?

·       There will now be 4 teams comprised of swimmers from Florida Swimming (FL) and Florida Gold Coast (FGC)!

  • After submitting entries, the FGC and FL AG Chairs will divide the swimmers into 4 teams via a draft.
    • The Draft is based on the entries submitted to the meet and can’t be changed once teams are selected.  Individual events can’t be changed either.
  • This year's four teams are the Rays, Barracudas, Gators, and Sharks.
