Position Title: Special Projects Manager, Times Team

Division: Business Operations

FT/PT: FT

Reports to: Performance Database Director

 

Job Summary: 
The position of Special Projects Manager for the Times Team will focus on a variety of ongoing programs that affect USA Swimming members as well as USA Swimming partner organizations. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage the times collection and data process in collaboration with USA Swimming volunteers and staff
  • Assist with data handling of performance results from USA Swimming sanctioned events
  • Administer the Top 10 age group recognition program
  • Administer the National Age group Records reporting and awards
  • Assist with the communication with LSC Times Volunteers
  • Manage National Age Group All-Time Top 100 list
  • Serve as a key liaison with the NCAA on times and data projects (Divisions I, II, and II). Manage performance results and rankings
  • Serve as a key liaison with FINA, the international federation on times and data projects. Manage performance results and rankings
  • Assist with the management of the On-line Meet Entry (OME) process with various entities (clubs, NCAA, FINA, etc.)
  • Assist with other times-related special projects requested by other divisions within USA Swimming (Example: national team scouting requests, performance research for marketing initiatives, general statistical requests, etc.)
  • Assist with the preparation of performance and biographical data for television and web broadcasts
  • Maintain the Olympic Trial qualifier list and club; Email updates to this group 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the sport of swimming (experience as a coach, swimmer or intimate knowledge of the sport)
  • Understanding swimming performance times is a plus
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and general computer technology
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and resourceful
  • Must have a minimum of 4-year Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must be willing to work off hours
  • “Can-do” attitude is required
  • Some travel required
