Important Change Regarding Area 3-5 Events File

 

Coaches, please find attached an updated Events file for the Area 3-5 Meet on March 23-25, 2012 at the Sarasota YMCA pool.  The changes to the file were made to allow teams utilizing the Team Unify platform to enter swimmers into the Open age group in the 500FR and the 400IM.  Prior to this update, if a team utlizing Team Unify had a swimmer that had a faster time than the standard for one of these events, because of the way Meet Manager format's multi-age events, that swimmer could not be entered into the Open age group for that event (nor could any swimmer be entered that was not at least 19 years old - clearly an issue).  In Team Manager you have the ability to enter the swimmer by utlizing the swim up option - but that does not work for the Team Unify platform.

We are asking ALL TEAMS to please utlize this updated Events file for entries.  We realize that many have already started the entry process and apologize for the duplicate work, but the inability for some teams to enter swimmers in an event required us to update the file.  Our suggestion would be to print the Entries before you purge the file and Import the new one.  In the future we have already agreed upon a format that will fix this issue.

We also added certain standards to the 10&U and 9-10 age groups.

Please keep in mind that per the Meet Letter, and regardless of the Events file, which will show these events as Open/Senior events, the following standards still apply:

                              13-14      5:15.89
                              15-18      5:00.79

                              15-18      4:53.09
                              Senior     Open

Event 12 Boys  400 IM         13-14      4:53.79
                              15-18      4:34.09
                              Senior     Open

All swimmers that exceed the above standards will be place in the Senior category for Results.
