FINA NAMES LOCHTE BEST MALE SWIMMER OF 2010
After a year of unbelievable performances in the pool Ryan Lochte continues to receive recognition on an international scale. FINA Aquatics World Magazine in cooperation with other members of the FINA family unvelied it's list of the Best Athletes of 2010 and Lochte took home the award for Best Male Swimmer.
The award seems a fitting end to a year that saw Lochte dominate the 2010 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific
Championships winning six gold medals, then adding seven more medals at the FINA World Championships (25m) in Dubai, UAE last month.
Lochte was also recently named USA Swimming's Male Athlete of the Year. The Florida native racked up three National Titles (200m back, 200m IM and 400m IM) at the ConocoPhillips National Championships leading up to his dominant performance at the Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships just two weeks later. Lochte finds himself in prime position to help USA Swimming dominate the medal stand again in 2011.
