USA Swimming Sectionals, Gainesville: Gator Swim Club Sweeps Men's Relays on Opening Night -- July 8, 2010

GAINESVILLE, Florida, July 8. THE first night at the USA Swimming Sectionals meet hosted by Gator Swim Club featured long course racing in the women's 1500 free, men's 800 free, and two relay events for both women and men. Notably, the host club swept the men's relays on night one.

Sarasota YMCA went 1-3 in the women's 1500, with Danielle Valley claiming the win in 16:43.09, while her teammate Marissa Harrington finished third in 17:05.99. Sharla Milne, unattached, split the difference with a second-place 16:49.69. Metro Miami's Carlos Omana picked up the men's 800 win in 8:12.15, while Sarasota teammates Nicholas Caldwell (8:13.23) and Patrick Ceddia (8:26.10) rounded out the top three. read more
