Top Candidtates for 2010 Florida Swimming Age Group Zone Team
A total of seven 11-12 girls and boys, seven 13-14 girls and boys and ten 15-18 girls and boys will be selected to compete in the meet which begins July 27th in Atlanta at Georgia Tech. These 48 athletes will represent Florida Swimming while competing against other LSC’s in the Southern Zone. We are three time defending champions!!!!
Zone Team Head Coach Benji DeMotte will be making official calls to invite athletes to be a part of the team. I am sending out this email as a courtesy to coaches. This should allow you the time to discuss this tremendous opportunity with your athletes and their families.
At this time we are selecting four 11-12 girls and boys, four 13-14 girls and boys and all ten 15-18 girls and boys. The three remaining 11-12 and 13-14 athletes will be based on high point scores at the Junior Olympic Championships in July in Orlando.
I have listed the athletes in rank order as of the end of the short course season. Points were assigned based on rankings in each event for that the age group. The total points were calculated for each athlete and ranked as seen below. The athletes are in the age group they will be a part of as of July 27th. Athletes who have made the 2009 U.S. Open qualifying time in any event are not eligible.
